Reddish Blossom

Reddish blossom (yes I am), reddish blossom (oh my Love) Only on a straight path do I walk, never in a crooked way. Before me stretches such beauty, and on either side the radiant glow of dawn. With my head held high I walk, never with my head bended low. In my arms I have the strength of thunder and my eyes gaze with pure unclouded sight. Only simple and clear thoughts I think, never in a crooked way.

I wonder who you are, cause you are unknown to me. Suddenly you came and you woke me, and I don’t know know why, no I don’t know why. I was in my room , deeply sleeping, and the door was closed. I didn’t open it nor did I say come in, yet you came to me. I looked up and saw you there, showering your love. And I don’t know why, no I don’t know why. Why I am her or where I came from, I just don’t know. Then you spoke to me of my past. ‘Do not cry’ you said because all these happenings are nothing but ones imagination and I don’t know why, no I don’t know why. Ke go, ke do tumi a’cena’ Sahasa’ ele ghum bha’unga’le Keno ja’ni na’, Keno ja’ni na’ Chilum a’ndhare ghumag hore Bada ba’ta’yane Dva’r khulinii eso bhulinii Tabu ele sa’mne Ceye dekhe a’loke ma’khe Dha’lco karuna’, Keno ja’ni na’, kichui ja’ni na’ Koile katha’ mor I tikatha’ Bolle kendo na’, Dva’r be’ta’ya’n ghum ja’gara’n A’ma’ri kalpana’ Keno ja’ni, keno ja’ni na

Oh my love come closer, come ever closer. Come, come within my being. Come with emotions, come with the rhythm of life, come within my being. Come, come within me. You have come to us from the Formless, oh Love of Infinity. All my aspirations and all longing has today been fulfilled. Today, in their hearts everyone wants you, and in their every deed. Come, come, within my being, Come, come within me. Without you there’s nothing, everyone knows this. Everyone understands this truth. Come, come within my being, come, come within me (Tumi) nikat’ haite a’ro nikat’ete Eso more manoma’jhe Hiyara ran’ane pra’n’aspandane nitya nu’tana sa’je Eso more manoma’jhe Aru’pa haite ru’pete esecho ago aru’epera ra’ja’ (A’j) Sa’rthaka halo skal es’an’a’ sa’rthaka halo khonja’ (A’j) Saba’I toma’re ca’he pra’n’bhare ca’he toma’sab ka’je Eso more manoma’jhe Tumi bina’ka’ro kichui tha’ke na’ vishva ta’ buijia’che Eso more manoma’jhe

Today the melody of the ever new resounds, with the swaying of the flowers. Mother earth is dressing in her ever new garments, making me forget all my pain, with the swaying of the flowers. Today there are no obstacles on our onward journey in this euphoria, our songs sound in one melody. United in our laughter, forgetting all our differences, let us march ahead, together one and all, with the swaying of the flowers. In the rhythm and the dance, we all move in endless bliss in the aroma of the pollens fragrance, on this new years day feeling such delightfulness. (But) where’s the one who makes us dance and thrills our hearts? With the swaying of the flowers. Oh my Love, you’ve come today to think of all those in need, to destroy all darkness and to love all beings. Everyone was waiting for your arrival. Everywhere one could see signs of distress. True happiness was nowhere to be found, laying beneath all afflictions. Come, radiate you light more and more in the world. Fill our hearts with more and more nectar. Send to all the clarion call to move onwards with heads held high. Oh Beloved you’ve come today to think of all those in need. Under a crimson sky, beside jasmine and magnolia groves if you come with your rhythmic and rosy feet, I shall offer you with my outstretched hands, full bloom flowers, only flowers. Even now the cuckoo still sings a few notes for you. In the mornig and the evening time, when ted ea breeze blows. On the kimshuk tree branches papaya birds call, when the rivers have almost all dried. I shall offer you with my open hands, full bloom flowers, only flowers. When the ashoka leaves, have almost all fallen, and the teak trees are laden with seads, on the grapevines bunches of grapes hang low, and today in the boughs of the madhavii flowers, swarms of black bees seek and find their blooms, and I shall offer you with my open hands, full bloom flowers, only flowers.

about

This album is an expression of my deep love for and inspiration from the composer Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar (1921-1990), also known as Shrii Shrii Anandamurtii. It is very humble attempt to bring a few of these extremely beautiful and deeply profound songs from Prabhat Samgiit (Songs of the New Dawn, in total 5018, closer to a western sensibility and to make them available to all, as they were intended.

Just as the poems of the Nobel Prize Winner, Rabindranath Tagore from India, were brought to and English speaking audience, so too will these exquisite songs, with their human, social sensitivity, mysticism, universalism, ‘double entendre’, humour, social relevance, as well as a multitude of different aspects. Personally, I have experienced how these songs have transformed my life, and, also how my life has become and expression of the inner meaning of these songs.

The sons of Shrii Prabhat Painjan Sarkar, are one of our modern day treasure, from which we can delve at any time, to find solace, inspiration, and positive new direction in life. The subtle vibration of these songs, with their various ragas and rhythms, have a healing and transforming effect on the mind of all beings: humans, animals and plants and can bring about positive changes on all levels, physical, environmental, social, intellectual and spiritual. Play them often and experience the effects yourself.
